I am Maxx.  Welcome to my page!

I am a gorgeous white and tan parti-colored cocker looking for a forever home!  Seriously, everyone says I am the cutest dog they have ever seen.  Everyone also notices how sweet and calm I am.  My original owner passed away, so I am tossing out my leash in the hope of catching someone's eye!  I'll be 10 years old in April, and I weigh 25 pounds, though I'm trying to lose 3#.

Let's talk about my good points.  I am house-trained and crate-trained.  Cats are ok, because we had one in my last home, so if you have one or two already, don't worry, they don't faze me!  :-) I love all human strangers!!  In fact, I prefer always to be with My Person.  I would be fine in a home with older, dog-savvy kids.  I also LOVE Kong Toys, carrots, green beans, and peanut butter!  I adore my stuffed toys and am willing to share them with other dogs and people.  I ride well in the car.  I need a little refresher on leash walking, but I gladly work for food and fun!  If a squirrel or rabbit crosses our path, I might show off my hunting instincts.  Most of the time I am mindful to restrain myself, though.   I am also incredibly patient if you need your coffee before our morning walk.

I struggle with some separation/isolation anxiety, but that should decrease as I feel safe and happy in a new home (I'm doing very well in my foster home now).  For that reason, condos/apartments/townhouses might not be the best option for me unless you have very understanding neighbors or thick walls.  I also am not fond of some bigger and/or intimidating strange dogs.  If you keep me at a distance, I can ignore them.

Recently the doctor shared some important updates.  I have a heart murmur, but the cardiologist said that I do not need any medications - my heart disease is mild at this time.  He has prescribed fish oil and wants to see me back in Nov/Dec.  I also have a partially torn CCL.  I easily take half-mile walks without any problems.  My ears and eyes are great considering that I am a Cocker Spaniel!  It is obvious that my first human took good care of me.

I know you can't wait to meet me, so please get in touch at the link below!

Wags and licks!
